That's good news.

From what I could tell, It looks like BoF2 is still a work in progress.

I'd love to download a working copy eventually.

I liked the first one. I haven't played in a while. We had problems running on it a LAN. It would crash someone out and they couldn't rejoin, like one can in Civilization.

Do they have a patch to make BotF1 run multiplayer LAN on Windows10 machines?

I found a mod section.

and the section on asking Windows 10 questions. I'll have to create an account and do this later. after 2am here my time.

MOO1 Fan, MOO2 Fan, MOO3 needed too many changes = hopeless, MOO4 trending downward, getting older waiting for a MOO5 (a modern version of mostly MOO2).

BoF2 is still a work in progress, thats true... but they managed some huge steps in terms of gameplay. And it looks really really cool.

But does that game have any sort of tactical combat still?

Moreover, I advise that the tactical combat must be made more player controllable and informative for this to become a proper MOO game.

The long lost formula for space 4X game success = Good tactical combat + good empire management > than just good tactical combat or good empire management alone.
