Today's patch was mostly what xwing_n_it is looking for--tons and tons of bugfixes. We also included easier quality of life things, and what may seem like a simple feature, but was very highly requested. Patch 2 is going to take a little longer because it's focused on meatier changes.

A couple examples of things we're looking at for patch 2:

  • Revamps of some system mechanics like Gravity, Morale, Pollution and Food (we've seen a lot of feedback here that some of the mechanics are either confusing or not interesting)
  • Revamp of anomaly system so they scale as the game goes on and you might discover new types of anomalies
  • More bulk building options for ships
  • More differentiation in uber planets
  • Rally points
  • Mod support

This doesn't even begin to cover everything, but it's really all the detail I can go into right now because we have a localization process that we follow for previews to make sure we're communicating major info to all the regions and languages we support. We have a bigger preview of patch 2 in the works. It's a list of roughly 52 things broken down into "must have" and "nice to have"--those above all being considered "must have" items.

Very interesting stuff! Especially about the changes for gravity, morale and further differentiation of the uber biomes. I'm very curious to see where WG is going with this and how much of the feedback will be included.

I'm also hoping that we'll finaly see the Mrrshan reinstated to their rightful place as the game's best gunners instead of a Bulrathi copycat.

Finger's crossed!

I was hoping that maybe they would take some of my ideas for the Uber planets ;)

A few months ago I've made some suggestions for the race traits that allow uber terraforming, but since lots of things have changed and I was forced to make adjustments.

Right now, I'm leaning towards these:

  • Subterranean: Uber Planet Cavernous (ADDED DESCRIPTION: +2 maximum pop in Arid/Desert, -20% Bombardment eficiency inUber Cavernous & +6 maximum pop.)
  • Plains Dweller: Uber Planet Grassland (ADDED DESCRIPTION: +20% food in Arid, +40% food in Grassland.)
  • Jungle Creature: Uber Planet Jungle (ADDED DESCRIPTION: +20% Ground Combat Rating in Swamp/Jungle, +2 maximum pop in Swamp, +4 maximum pop in Jungle)
  • Lava Breather: Uber Planet Inferno (ADDED DESCRIPTION: +10% Population Growth in Volcanic, +20% Population Growth in Inferno.)

This. Fleet commanders and system governors would add some flavor to this game. Loknar FTW.

Very encouraging! I'm especially excited for that last item mentioned in the list! Mod support.

If it means what it I hope it means, that'd be pretty huge.

reading that first post and understanding that you guys are willing/working on revamping the game, it pleases me a lot.

i haven't written a review in steam yet, since i don't think it's fair to write one during an Early Access.

after you guys decided to label it as release, that criteria did not apply anymore and die hard review was in order, but to be fair, only after a complete playthrough.

still, even having the time to play it since the release, i could not get myself to go beyond the custom race screen (even able to change it by myself).

only earlier today i managed to play it a little, but still too far from the endgame, so, no review material yet.

now, with those two quotes in mind, i will hold my review for a later date...

hope this fallen phoenix rises from the ashes.

Great to hear! I'm going to give the benefit of the doubt on this one and look forward to the new contents release!

Well, I am torn between giving you the benefit of the doubt, as it seems you are at least pretending to improve the game, yet on the other hand, I have been dealing with Wargaming for just over 6 years now, and have yet to have a good experience with them...

I am going to wait and hope, though...I just wish the game was more popular.  So far I haven't found a single good player doing play throughs on Twitch or Youtube...All of them are making horrible decisions over and over :(

I just want to be able to learn how a "pro" plays the game...Surely I can't be the closest thing we have to a "pro"?

A rather off topic question but, have you ever attempted to do a playthrough on twitch or youtube? Or if you got the game on Steam done a stream using their UI/Software?

I have recorded some gameplay, but for some reason when I try to use XSplit (Broadcaster or Gamecaster) my CPU usage goes to 100% the entire time I am streaming.  My ping also hovers at 999ms if I am trying to stream World of Tanks.  When playing Master of Orion and streaming the game stops responding when I either go into tactical combat or end turn (once I have like 15+ colonies).  I had tried streaming Tuesday, but after having to restart the game about 15 times before I had played 2 turns, I got disgusted and killed my XSplit.

I have a pretty decently beast computer, running Windows 10 (Which automatically makes it a beast, right?!)  But my internet sucks (512mb upload) and I have never been able to stream right with it.  My old computer was a lot slower, but at least I could stream and record.

Since the issues I am having are not MOO related, I haven't really tried to get advice on resolving the issues on here.
