I just had an equal computer AI surrender to me without asking in MOOII. Any idea why?

You must have been really hitting it off with them diplomatically. How much did you butter them up?

I thought that's impossible...

I've had this happen multiple times. I have no idea why.

On a side note, it would be great if there were a surrender option that worked like vassalage in Civ4. I miss this mechanic in Civ5.

I'm generally not fond of diplomatic features that help the player but never help the AI. Would a player ever "surrender" to the AI? Of course not.

normally an a.i. would surrender to another a.i.

We were Allys, I was democratic, and had a leader that gave +20 to diplomatic relations.

I've had an AI surrender to me like ... once or twice ... in the many years I've played MoO2. I believe it's mainly a random chance thing - and fairly low probability at that - for ANY AI to surrender to anyone.

I remember this happening in MOO2 on say easy mode, but if you play hard or impossible, it never happened.

I have this problem all the time, both with respect to the AI to AI version and to me.  I refuse to play impossible, and rarely bother with hard, as winning seems to be all about going right out and taking worlds built by the AI races right off the bat, or loosing.  Not a match for my playing style.  Is there any way that we could possibly get a check-box type of thing, to turn off/on at game start, so we don't have the darned "My give up" stuff. style="background: none;">:p>

If I can scrape together the cash to get the pre order of the collectable version style="background: none;">, will the Moo2 included be the historical game?  :p>

Further more, I believe that we must start building a better MoO5 now, for only by doing so can we get tomorrow's game, today!
