Greetings my fellow MoOers!

It is my pleasure and honor to introduce to you all a long time Community Member of the Wargaming family and your new Lead Community Manager........Nyx! Many of you may recognize her from the World of Tanks Xbox, World of Warships, and even the World of Tanks PC forums. Well now she will be here with us on the Master of Orion forums so let's all give her a warm welcome. I asked her a couple of questions so we could get to know her a bit better and whatever questions you as the community may have feel free to let her know so she can answer, as after my post this show is all about her:

How long have you been in the video game industry?
About 7 years

What was your first video game industry job?
QA (contract) for the MMORPG Aion just prior to its release. I was responsible for the Bug section of the Beta forums and documenting/testing all new bugs found by the beta testers. After my contract expired and Aion launched, the company hired me full time for the community team.

How long have you been with Wargaming?
A little over 2 years

What do you do at Wargaming?
I am the Lead Community Manager, so I oversee the communities and the community staff for all Wargaming products in North America.

What is your favorite Wargaming memory?
Kind of random lol - We took the whole office to Six Flags last year during a workday. They have a butterfly exhibit that you can walk through but you aren't allowed to touch them. One of them landed on my wrist (specifically on the wristband that marked me as with the WG group) right after I walked in, and I didn't want to hurt it. My new friend stayed with me the entire time I was in the exhibit, and I had to ask a staff member to safely remove it before I could leave!

Hometown?
Snyder, Texas (small town in West Texas)

What is your favorite Sci-Fi Franchise (movie, game, or literature)?
This is super hard to choose. I don't think it's possible to choose only one. I love to read and sci-fi/fantasy is my favorite. I love Terry Pratchett and the world he has created so many books around. Probably my favorite book ever is Ready Player One, but it's stand alone and not a "franchise." I am a huge Willy Wonka fan (the original, we don't discuss the new one). I also own every James Bond movie in existence on DVD and I love them although it's not *really* sci-fi.

What was the first video game you ever played?
I played text-based games on a Tandy TRS 80. Bedlam and Madness and the Minotaur are two that I remember. You actually loaded the games via cassette tape! I also had an Atari and I played a LOT of Frogger and Qbert. A bit later, my parents bought my brother a Sega and I was a massive Sonic addict.

What current games are you playing?
I am a fairly hardcore gamer :)
•    Guild Wars 2 - I have four level 80 characters and I just finished crafting my legendary longbow for my Ranger
•    FFXIV - recently started playing again, working to get back up to level cap since it was increased, currently level 54 Scholar, level 50 Black Mage
•    Blade and Soul Beta - just trying it out
•    I also participate in 2 separate tabletop groups - both are Pathfinder campaigns - I play a sorceress in a Shadows of Westcrown campaign and an unchained barbarian in Iron Gods - Fires of Creation

Feel free to ask me any questions and I will be happy to answer!

Welcome! I thought I recognized the name from the Aion community! Alas, the closest we have to daevas flitting about the abyss is a bunch cranky Alkari.

So will James Bond return in "Master Of Orion: Conquer the Stars"?  :D

Since he already was in MOO 2:

Moreover, I advise that the tactical combat must be made more player controllable and informative for this to become a proper MOO game.

The long lost formula for space 4X game success = Good tactical combat + good empire management > than just good tactical combat or good empire management alone.

A welcome from me as well, Nyx.  I would agree that Ready Player One is one of the best books I've ever read, so you're already in a favorable light with me!

As one of the resident 'negative-nancys' I have to point out that our new community coordinator has been silent for the first 10 days on the job.

I want a moddable Master of Orion 1.5 with focus on interface and pacing.  Come discuss MoO 1.5 ideas HERE!

Hey Nyx, I am extremely excited to see Master of Orion updated and playable again!!! Although I am disappointed I am not part of the dev team...

I was the programmer for MacSoft who ported the original Master of Orion II to the Mac. I tried for years to get the opportunity to make a new Master of Orion with a surprisingly similar design to this version without all the mistakes of overcomplicating that plagued Master of Orion III. Please pass along to the dev team that I would be very happy to help out in any way I can with the Mac version of the game including beta testing, gameplay feedback, or helping squash bugs.

Thanks again!
