Since as of Feb. 2016, everyone on here is still waiting for some tactical combat info, how about a little something to tide you over:

 

Here's a space RTS game about to come out that has tactical combat on steroids:  Battlefleet Gothic Armada:

 

Check out the website and go watch all the videos. I recommend start from the Teaser video and work your way forward.  I already pre-ordered, as they had a 10% discount on Steam.  The game's estimated release date is this March, 2016.   The game has already been going thru some closed-user testing and so far the feedback in the forums has been positive, though these players are probably fans of the Warhammer 40K universe so may be a little biased (as am I ).

Battlefleet gothic's been in my wishlist for a while now. I've been crushed and burned with pre releases though, so I still need more info before I make the purchase.

Yet I have to say, it looks pretty rad.
